The proposed 3.25 mil property tax levy renewal to be voted on by South Bloomfield Township at the General Election on Tuesday, November 2, 2021 will not cost tax payers any more money than they are paying under the current levy, unless they have new construction. Any new construction would be in addition to the previous value therefore, would increase the taxes.
Current Levy is voted at 3.25 mills.

The current fire levy is a 3.25 mil property tax. This is a 5-year levy which became effective for the 2017 tax year and is set to expire at the end of 2021. The levy is up for renewal on the November 2, 2021 general election ballot.
The levy supports the purchase and maintenance of fire apparatus, mechanical resuscitators, underwater rescue & recovery equipment, or other fire equipment & building & sites therefor, for the payment of firefighting companies or permanent, part-time or volunteer firefighting, emergency medical service, including the payment of ambulance equipment, for the provision of ambulance, paramedic or other EMS by the fire department.
This is just a renewal of the current tax on the books. This will not raise your taxes. The Trustees encourage residents to vote on November 2, 2021.
The Township Trustees currently contract with the Central Ohio Joint Fire District (COJFD) to provide local fire and emergency medical services.
The Morrow County Commissioners provide additional EMS coverage in South Bloomfield Township. South Bloomfield Township and Sparta property owners contribute approximately $78,868 annually to Morrow County for EMS through property taxes.
The current County EMS levy is a 2 mil property tax.
