LEGAL NOTICE — SOUTH BLOOMFIELD TOWNSHIP BOARD OF TRUSTEES, MORROW COUNTY, OHIO
PUBLIC HEARING ON PROPOSED ZONING RESOLUTION AMENDMENTS
The Board of Township Trustees of South Bloomfield Township, Morrow County, Ohio, will hold a public hearing on Sunday, August 30, 2026, at 1:00 p.m., at the Sparta Wastewater Treatment Facility, 6605 State Route 229, Sparta, Ohio 43350, to consider the recommendation of the South Bloomfield Township Zoning Commission regarding proposed amendments to the South Bloomfield Township Zoning Resolution.
The proposed amendments were initiated by the Board of Trustees under Resolution No. 2026-05-14 B and represent a comprehensive update to the Zoning Resolution consistent with the Township's adopted vision statement, including revisions to residential lot size and density standards; the addition of new permitted and conditional uses; updated development standards for the AR-1, OCD, C-1, and S-1 Zoning Districts; revised sign and supplemental regulations; and various housekeeping and organizational updates throughout the document.
On August 4, 2026, the Zoning Commission voted to recommend approval of the proposed amendments to the Board of Trustees, subject to one clarifying modification from the amendments as initiated: the Zoning Commission does not recommend increasing the minimum tract size for the Overlay Conservation Development (OCD) from thirty (30) acres to one hundred (100) acres, as had been identified in the initiating Resolution. The Zoning Commission recommends that the OCD minimum tract size remain unchanged at thirty (30) acres.
These amendments affect ten (10) or more parcels throughout the Township and are proposed in accordance with Article 12 of the South Bloomfield Township Zoning Resolution and Ohio Revised Code § 519.12.
The full text of the proposed amendments, together with the Zoning Commission's recommendation, is available for public inspection at the links below.
All interested persons are invited to attend and be heard.

Dream Chasers, a local 4-H group has completed their 2026 Trash Bash Litter pick up in South Bloomfield. We thank Erin and the Dream Chasers for their hard work in helping to keep Morrow County beautiful.

Dream Chasers will be out cleaning up more roads over the next couple weeks as a part of the Annual Dumpster Day event for the Township! They cleaned up 6.4 miles of township roads: roads 197, 195, 198 and 199.

And they did an amazing job! They collected a whopping 480 lbs of trash, tires, steel and a toilet. This was all disposed of at Mid-Ohio Sanitation. They even found a baby snapper!
